Have you ever searched high and low, store to store, to find the perfect gift for a friend or someone in your Secret Santa exchange? Then the big day comes, and you are so excited to give it to her. She probably has no idea how hard you had worked to find her the "perfect" gift, and after she opens it, you realize "it doesn't fit". It's a letdown, to say the least!
During this busy holiday season, I hope you find a moment to pause, despite the distractions and hurry, in the peace of knowing you are loved! The Bible says, "For God loved the world SO much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16 NLT).
May this little poem remind your heart and uplift your spirit to rejoice in the greatest gift exchange of all, God's love from above for each of us.

The Gift Exchange
You give to me.
I give to you.
Don’t you see?
That’s what we do.
I look for more.
I try every store.
I’m in a hurry,
with bags of worry.
I will not lose.
Perfect, I must choose.
Wrapped with a bow.
Inside, only I know.
I bring her my gift.
Oh. No! It doesn’t fit.
It was on her list.
How did I miss?
I tried my very best.
I wanted to impress.
She gives it a toss.
Now I’m at a loss.
Wait, what is this,
hung under the tree?
Not on my list.
How can this be?
A gift with my name.
I try to explain.
“I’m so sorry,” I say,
“I’ve got no exchange,”
I untie the red bow.
How did He know?
All warm and white.
It fits just right.
